LED Strip Feed Count Calculator Australia

Split a long LED strip run into planning sections and estimate watts and amps per section.

Feed sections

Total length, section limit and strip load

Split a long strip length into equal planning sections and read watts and amps per section.

All strip length included across repeated runs or sections.

Longest section before the run is split into another feed or section.

Rated watts per metre for the strip.

Nominal strip voltage used for the current estimate.

Formula

section count = ceiling(total length / max section length); section watts = section length x W/m; section amps = section watts / voltage

Section count is ceiling(total length divided by maximum section length). Section load equals section length multiplied by W/m, then current is section watts divided by voltage.

VariableTechnical meaningDesign check
Total lengthAll strip length included in the run.Do not include unrelated strip groups.
Max section lengthPlanning length before adding another section.User-entered assumption.
W/mStrip load per metre.Used for per-section watts.
VoltageNominal strip voltage.Used for per-section current.
Section countRounded up whole section count.Feed planning only.
