LED Strip Run Power Calculator Australia

Estimate watts, amps, total lumens and driver headroom for one LED strip run.

Strip run

Run length, strip output and load

Enter one LED strip run with lm/m, W/m, voltage and headroom. The result stays with load, current, output and driver capacity.

Total strip length supplied by one driver.

Published light output per metre for the strip or linear luminaire.

Rated watts per metre for the strip.

Nominal strip voltage used for the current estimate.

Additional driver capacity above the connected strip load.

Formula

connected watts = strip length x W/m; current = connected watts / voltage; driver capacity = connected watts x (1 + headroom / 100)

Connected watts equal strip length multiplied by watts per metre. Current is watts divided by voltage, and driver capacity adds the entered headroom.

VariableTechnical meaningDesign check
Strip lengthMeasured run included in the note.Split the run when voltage, strip type or control path changes.
Strip outputLumens per metre for the same strip case.Used for the total lumen note.
Strip loadWatts per metre for the same strip case.Used for connected load.
VoltageNominal strip voltage.Current changes with voltage.
HeadroomAdditional capacity above connected load.Capacity margin only.
