| Marking | Meaning | Calculation use | Boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| lm | Luminous flux output. | Used for lumen targets, fixture count and lux estimates. | Use delivered lumens where the data distinguishes source and fitting output. |
| W | Electrical input power. | Used for connected load and running-cost estimates. | Watts do not describe brightness without lumen output. |
| K or CCT | Correlated colour temperature. | Used for appearance grouping such as warm, neutral or cool white. | CCT does not describe colour rendering quality. |
| CRI or Ra | Colour rendering index. | Used as a colour quality cue for task and display contexts. | Do not treat one CRI number as a full spectral assessment. |
| IP | Ingress protection code. | Used to compare enclosure protection against solids and water. | IP marking does not replace location and installation checks. |
| Dimmable | Control compatibility statement. | Used to flag that a fitting may require a matching control method. | It is not a guarantee with every dimmer, driver or load condition. |
