Room or zone area	Length, width and any excluded alcove or void area.	Area drives the lumen allowance and should match the room zone being checked.	Do not mix a whole-room area with a local bench or desk target.
Assessed plane	Floor, desktop, bench, mirror, shelf face or other named surface.	Shows where the lux target or measured reading applies.	A floor note does not describe vertical or task-surface visibility.
Target light level	Target lux or maintained-light note used for the estimate.	Keeps the calculation goal beside the room and task context.	This table does not set a required standard for every room.
Luminaire output basis	Delivered lumens per fitting or lighting group used in the estimate.	Lets the room estimate connect to fixture-count and output checks.	Bare lamp output and complete fitting output should not be mixed.
UF and MF assumptions	Utilisation factor, maintenance factor and room-finish note.	Shows how delivery and maintained-light assumptions changed the lumen allowance.	Assumptions from another room should not be copied across without checking finishes.
Control and daylight state	Daylight condition, dimming state and lighting zone active during comparison.	Keeps measured readings and room estimates in the same state.	Day and evening conditions need separate lines when they change.
